About Us
Bracknell Drama club has been in existence for well over half a century, and has
had a fluctuating and energetic membership ever since it opened. In the past it
has had the reputation of staging excellent drama and comedy and has played host
to both its own and others versions of Olde time music hall evenings, murder mysteries
and pantos.
With a change of personnel in 2006 the club has undergone extensive refurbishment
of all areas, and with it has come a change of direction, this includes:
- More opportunities for new writing
- Guidance and help for fledgling directors.
- Workshops relating to performances.
- More emphasis on education, with Lamda and other specialist classes.
- Links with other groups and venues.
- Links with other educational establishments.
Many local companies have grown out of the Drama club, at present The Risen theatre
company, rehearses and performs their shows at the club. In the past few years the
Drama club has played host to many theatre companies including Freespirit, Thames
Valley University (performing arts dept), and Bracknell and Wokingham college (media
dept) and the Rose Street Players.
There are many opportunities for anyone with an interest in the theatre to get involved,
so either register as a member here: Register or pick
up the phone and call us, we promise to make you welcome.
